Genius Hour 2
This was genuinely a very productive genius hour in which I completed the following…
Created a template to rate how my runs felt and how effective of a training method it was
Then for about the last 40 minutes I spent researching various training methods and had to conclude on what were considered the most popular
I quickly learned that there is an overload of different training methods although this was something that I began to have trouble with, which methods popped up the most in respectable and reputable running forums and websites. I began to see a trend in differently named methods that followed the same principles and I began to group them together and I was able to land of the 5 methods that are proposed in the document linked below.
What I need to do for my next genius hour is actually start the program and I picked a fantastic week to do it, filled with snow storms. I have come to accept that there is going to be a significant mental commitment as well. As I will have to balance work, school, and this training method. I am going to have to thoughtfully plan out my training blocks and ensure that I am meeting my goals this week.
Although there is one question that constantly repeated in my head as I went through this research. How am I going to deal with the unexpected occurrences that throw a wrench in my training schedule? How will I make up the time? I didn't give myself a whole lot of room for error so it will be interesting to see how I can maneuver around these unforeseen circumstances that present themselves.
