Genius Hour 10

12 weeks later at the end of the genius hour, what a journey it was!  When I first began reading the outline of this project I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. It oddly felt like the beginning of the pandemic when everyone was picking up a new skill or hobby! There were 1000 different directions I could have taken this project in which was slightly overwhelming. I decided I wanted to continue to develop a skill that was already a big facet of my life.  I landed on the subject of running. I had registered for the Toronto half marathon and really wanted to dive into the science and how to best set myself up for success. I have been running for over 3 years now although I have never taken it seriously enough to really dedicate myself to doing research. Genius Hour 9

  As we are nearing the end of the genius hour project. I used this week as a time to reflect and work on some of the final projects.  I began to think about my genius hour product and how I wanted to showcase my learning. This was the first challenge I ran into, as I didn't have the typical genius hour project. My learning couldnt conclude with one final tangible item. Rather my race was taking place after this project ended, so I had to find an alternative way to show all that I have done. I decided to create a powerpoint that would demonstrate a variety of learning that I have done over the past 12 weeks. This was formatted in a way to inform the reader of all the basics of half marathon training. Beginning with the various training methods I curated a list that would scribe to a variety of different runners.
